UESF provides direct oil assistance for low-income Philadelphia residents who are unable to afford the cost of an oil delivery.
As the temperature outside begins to drop and Philadelphians prepare for the coming winter months, many families find themselves unable to pay for the fuel oil needed to heat their homes. UESF’s newest program will provide direct oil assistance for low-income Philadelphia residents.
To be eligible for the oil assistance program, your total household income must be at or below 175 percent of the current federal poverty guidelines. Eligibility will be determined at the time of application.
To be eligible, individuals and families must also:
- Have not received a fuel oil grant in the last 12 months.
- Be a Philadelphia resident.
- Have applied for LIHEAP when available.
- Be at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Level (to be determined at the time of application).
The maximum assistance available for this program is 200 gallons of oil; families are eligible for assistance once every 12 months.
For this effort, UESF is partnering with Philadelphia-based Cass Oil Company to offer a reduced rate on fuel oil assistance for eligible low-income families.
