UESF is now providing direct assistance for oil for low-income Philadelphia residents who are unable to afford the cost of an oil delivery. As the temperature outside begins to drop and Philadelphians begin to prepare for the coming winter months, many families find themselves unable to pay for the fuel oil needed to heat their homes.
Eligibility requirements for the oil assistance program include:
- Household income at or below 175% of the Federal Poverty Level (determined at time of application)
- Have not received a fuel or oil grant in the last 12 months
- Have not applied for LIHEAP when available
“As our organization continues to expand, we are committed to finding more ways to help low-income families remain stable in their homes. Our new oil assistance program will be a much needed resource for many families this winter.”
–John Rowe, UESF Executive Director.
For this effort, UESF is partnering with Philadelphia-based Cass Oil Company to offer a reduced rate on fuel oil assistance for eligible low-income families.
The maximum assistance available for this program is 200 gallons of oil; families are eligible for assistance once every 12 months.
