UESF’s newly created BenePhilly Center, supported through a grant from the Mayor’s Office of Community Empowerment and Opportunity, has exceeded initial performance goals for benefit applications completed over the past 12 months.
Since May 2014, UESF benefit counselors have screened over 1100 families for an array of mainstream resources and have completed 951 benefit applications for $295,000 in benefits, surpassing the program goal of 761 completions by 25%.
UESF is proud to be a part of this City-wide effort to link Philadelphia residents with in-person support from benefits experts, and help them determine eligibility, complete applications, organize key documents, and track their application’s status. The BenePhilly center at UESF helps support other housing stabilization programming the organization provides by linking families to resources that increase their income, and help them remain in their homes.
